Phase III - LEAPFROG
LEAPFROG will provide a part-time mentor, working and advising the selected company after successful completion and selection from the NEXT! Program.
Canadian companies will be selected to this phase of the program after successful completion and selection of the previous two phases (Phase I – Ready?, Phase II – NEXT!). This third phase of the program may involve the search for financing as one component of commercialization success, however, the requests may also include, and more likely to include, the identification of technology partners, talent, end customers, channel partners, San Diego community “tools” of use to commercialization support, and how to become part of the San Diego community (amongst other components of a successful commercialization equation).
Selected Canadian companies will be provided with the following menu of services from a pre-determined mentor located in the San Diego region with particular domain expertise relevant to their interests.
The mentor has been engaged by the Consulate of Canada (San Diego), through the Canada-San Diego Commercialization Advisory Group, to provide these services. The selected mentor will provide three of the services below, corresponding to the Canadian companies greatest need(s). For example, Deal Making, Competition, and Team support services. Further support from the selected mentor will be an arrangement decided upon between the Canadian company and mentor, and not included as part of Phase III.
